Getting to know me

I love this photo from my brother’s wedding in April–that’s all my siblings, lined up oldest to youngest (left to right). I’m third from the left, the brother getting married is in the tux in the middle (#5). We don’t make very good stair steps anymore…although someone pointed out that the boys can now do stair steps in reverse: somebody must have fed some super-grow potion to those younger ones! I loved, loved, loved growing up in a big family, and it is truly delightful when we are all together–unfortunately a rare occurrence. Seems it’s hard even to get us all on the same continent at the same time…

Just for fun, here are 10 things I HAVE NOT done and 10 things I HAVE done in my life:

HAVE NOT done:

  1. Had a manicure or pedicure
  2. Jumped out of an airplane
  3. Been to Africa
  4. Attended a Prom
  5. Drunk coffee
  6. Watched American Idol
  7. Had an epidural
  8. Climbed Mt. Everest
  9. Worn a bikini
  10. Milked a Cow

HAVE done:

  1. Helped excavate a prehistoric burial site
  2. Been scuba diving off the coast of Crete
  3. Attended a formal ball in Vienna
  4. Flown an airplane (with an instructor)
  5. Made a basket for the wrong team in a basketball game
  6. Given birth to 4 children
  7. Worked as a translator
  8. Served as a missionary for the LDS church in Japan
  9. Ridden an Elephant
  10. Operated a bulldozer and an excavator

How did you end up doing #10? I’m very jealous of #2 and #9 =)

When I was in the Air Force I got to train with the Civil Engineers–and their cool equipment 🙂

Jane, I would love to see what you write if you do!

Fun post, Sarah. I love the photo.

  6. I had to laugh at the photo of all ten of you together–I also have ten and if you move the pretty girl in the white shirt to the right one, y’all are in the same birth order as mine. I suspect mine will be similar in heights, as well. :oD

And, I call my children by insect names, too. I don’t have a spider…yet!
