Another of Jumping Spider’s projects. This is why I don’t make my kids sit in front of workbooks for hours every day–I’m convinced the best learning they do happens when I leave them to their own devices. Not that workbooks don’t have their place–they do, and I’m happy to use them when it seems appropriate, and happy to take the role of teacher as needed. But I also leave lots and lots of time for personal exploration and creativity, and my favorite role is as a facilitator and appreciative audience for all the great ideas my kids come up with on their own.
